Grey is the engineer’s default. It photographs without glare, it hides the small surface flaws that black exaggerates and white advertises, and a grey printed bracket sitting beside an aluminium one does not look out of place. This is standard ABS, so the part is tough, it holds a tapped thread, and it survives being dropped on a concrete floor. Grey also sands and fills predictably if you are preparing a master for moulding. Give it an enclosed or draught-free space and a warm bed and the material behaves; ABS is unforgiving of cold air and forgiving of nearly everything else.
