White is the base coat of 3D printing. It takes paint without a colour underneath fighting the finish, and it passes light evenly, which makes it the only real choice for lithophanes and diffusers. This spool is the standard CR-PLA, reliable on a stock machine and stocked often enough that a long build will not be interrupted halfway through. Beginners tend to start here because mistakes are easy to see on a white surface: a shifted wall or a gap between perimeters shows up immediately, which makes it a useful colour for dialling in a new printer.
