Red and copper is the pairing to choose when you want a print to pass for metal at arm’s length. The silk sheen does most of the work, catching light along each layer line so the surface reads as brushed rather than plastic. Prop makers use it for hilts, medallions and steampunk fittings that would otherwise need a rub-and-buff finish applied by hand. Because both colours live in one strand, the transition is gradual and slightly unpredictable, which suits weathered-looking pieces far better than a flat single colour ever does.
