Matte grey is the closest a printer gets to a cast finish without post-processing. The surface takes light softly, which flattens the visual stepping between layers and gives architectural models, scale terrain and product mock-ups a convincingly solid look. Designers reach for it on presentation models because a client then sees the form instead of the manufacturing method. It runs on the same settings as ordinary CR-PLA, with no enclosure and no special handling, so switching to it costs nothing in setup time. If you present concepts to people who do not print, this is usually the spool that makes the idea land.
