A push-fit connector grips the tube on insertion and releases when you press the collar, which makes re-routing a filament path a job you can do without tools. The 6mm size is the standard fitting across most Bowden setups. They are easy to damage when disconnecting in a hurry, and a connector that no longer grips properly lets the tube creep back under retraction — which reads on the print as under-extrusion. Cheap enough to keep two spare.
Good for
- Replacing a worn push-fit coupler
- Re-routing a Bowden filament path
- Fixing tube creep under retraction
- A spare for the maintenance drawer
