Standard resin is beautiful and brittle — drop a print and it shatters. ABS-like resin trades a little of that crispness for genuine impact resistance, so a printed bracket or housing survives being handled, fitted and worked on. Black hides the surface entirely, which is useful for functional parts where you want the geometry read rather than the layer structure, and it photographs well for anything going to a customer. It prints on ordinary LCD machines without special handling.
