Laser lenses are consumables. Smoke and resin from cutting gradually etch the glass, and once the surface is pitted the beam scatters: edges char, engraving loses contrast and material that used to part cleanly needs a second pass. This is the genuine Creality optic for the Falcon 22W and 40W modules, made to the same specification as the one fitted at the factory. Swapping in a fresh lens is the first thing to try when performance drops off, well before you start pulling the machine apart looking for other causes. Worth keeping one spare if you cut wood, acrylic or leather regularly.
