Milled carbon fibre in a PLA base gives a noticeably stiffer, more rigid result than an unfilled roll, along with a low-gloss textured surface that disguises layer lines without any sanding. It suits parts that need to hold their shape under load, such as drone frames, camera mounts, printer upgrade components and brackets, where plain PLA would flex and creep over time. It stays about as easy to run as ordinary PLA and shrinks less on cooling, so long parts come off straight. Carbon-filled filament is abrasive, so fit a hardened nozzle before you commit to a long job.
